State pensioners criticise budget

JAMMU, Feb 10: The J&K State Pensioners Association, Jammu has criticised the budget and said that it is not in favour of the working class and the pensioners.
The JKSPA president , Krishan Singh described the present J&K budget proposals as highly uninspirational for the working class as well as for the toiling masses, like all the previous budgets of the state and the Central governments.
B L Khajuria, general secretary and Om Parkash, organizer of the JKSPA said that the present budget proposals are not in favour of the working classes and the pensioners. They said the prices of all types of essential commodities are soaring day by day but the Government has not provided any relief to the general masses.
The pensioners demanded enhancement of Medical Allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 1000 per month and also release DA installment due from Ist January, 2026. They demanded release of withheld DA installments and implementation of 8th Pay Commission without any delay.
