JAMMU, Mar 30: J&K unit of Janta Dal United (JDU) president GM Shaheen has appealed to Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, to ensure the early commencement of work on the long-pending Tapper Kreri-Babareshi-Dubline Road.
Shaheen said that the people of Tapper Kreri, Babareshi and Dubline have been made to suffer for years due to broken promises, bureaucratic inaction and total governance failure. He said the pathetic and dangerous condition of the road has become a symbol of how rural and semi-rural areas are continuously ignored while hollow claims of development are being made from government platforms.
He said it is disgraceful that in today’s time, the people of this important belt are still being forced to travel on a road that is damaged, unsafe and unfit for public use. According to Shaheen, the road has become a daily source of misery for school children, patients, elderly citizens, traders, transporters and pilgrims visiting the revered shrine of Babareshi.
He said this road is not a luxury project but a basic necessity and public right. Yet, the continued delay in starting the work clearly shows how the genuine needs of the people are being pushed aside due to negligence, red tape and lack of political will.
Shaheen made an appeal to Nitin Gadkari to rise above routine files and official excuses and take immediate personal notice of the matter.
