SAMBA, Oct 23: BJP Jammu and Kashmir Vice-President and Prabhari District Samba, Rekha Mahajan, today said that Self-Help Groups (SHGs), start-ups, and women entrepreneurs are the true engines of rural development and community upliftment.
Speaking at a programme in Ghagwal Mandal, Rekha Mahajan said that empowering women is key to achieving the vision of a self-reliant India.
She urged women to make the best use of Government schemes like PMEGP, Mudra Yojana, NRLM, and Stand-Up India to start their own ventures and become financially independent.
She said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, several initiatives have been launched to promote women’s empowerment through financial inclusion, digital literacy, and entrepreneurship.
“The vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat is incomplete without Atmanirbhar Nari. Women today are not just homemakers but nation-makers,” she added.
Rekha appreciated the growing number of women-led start-ups and Self-Help Groups in Jammu and Kashmir, noting that they are transforming rural economies and strengthening communities.
She encouraged educated women and youth to explore opportunities in agriculture, handicrafts, food processing, and e-commerce.
The event also featured interactive sessions and success stories of local women entrepreneurs who shared their experiences of achieving financial independence through Government support.
Rekha assured that BJP will continue to back initiatives aimed at women’s empowerment and self-reliance.
