SSP visits LoC villages, assesses ground situation

POONCH, May 11: In the wake of the recent ceasefire violation by the Pakistan Army along the Line of Control (LoC), Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Poonch, Shafqat Hussain, accompanied by DySP Headquarters Neeraj Sharma, conducted an extensive visit to the forward villages of Karmara and Ajote today.
The visit aimed to assess the ground situation and reassure the residents living in these sensitive areas of the district.
During the visit, the officers interacted with the local populace, Panchayat representatives, and prominent citizens to understand their concerns and to provide assurance regarding their safety and security. SSP Poonch expressed solidarity with the residents affected by the unprovoked firing and emphasized that District Police Poonch stands firmly with the border residents in these challenging times.
The public interaction sessions were marked by active participation from villagers, who highlighted various issues pertaining to safety measures, compensation, infrastructure requirements, and the need for immediate support. SSP Poonch assured the villagers that all genuine grievances will be addressed on priority and necessary assistance will be extended without delay. He also instructed the concerned officers to maintain close coordination with civil administration and security agencies for effective response and relief.
Furthermore, the SSP directed for enhanced patrolling and vigilance in the affected areas to ensure a sense of security among residents.
The visit reaffirmed the commitment of Jammu & Kashmir Police to protect and serve the people, especially those residing in vulnerable border areas.
