SSP Ramban listens public grievances, assures swift redressal

RAMBAN, Nov 6: SSP Ramban, Arun Gupta here today presided over a Thana Divas programme that witnessed the participation of DDC member Ramban, Renuka Katoch, prominent citizens, social activists and local leaders who came forward to share their grievances and extend suggestions regarding public safety, law and order and civic issues.
The programme saw a strong turnout of Ramban residents who expressed concerns about a range of issues including rising menace of drug abuse, bovine smuggling, crimes under POCSO Act, crime against women and increasing parking problem in the town.
After patiently listening to the grievances, SSP Arun Gupta assured the public that all legitimate concerns would be addressed promptly.
“Our priority is to ensure a secure and drug-free Ramban. We will take stringent action against those involved in narcotics trade, crimes against women and other unlawful activities,” the SSP said.
He further announced a series of measures like intensified anti-drug operations to curb the spread of substance abuse among youth, strict monitoring and action against bovine smuggling and other illegal activities.
DDC Member Renuka Katoch urged the public to cooperate with Police in maintaining harmony.
The event concluded with an open interaction session, where several citizens thanked the SSP for personally listening to their concerns.
DySP Headquarters Ramban, Viqar Bhat, DSP operations, Manisha, DySP DAR, Kuldeep and other officers and officials were also present on the occasion.
