JAMMU, Nov 18: In view of forthcoming Assembly elections, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Railways Katra AK Mahajan reviewed security arrangements at Udhampur Railway Station.
The meeting was attended by Kamlesh Shoor SDPO Railways Katra/ Udhampur, AP Mathur ASC RPF, DySPs Puran Chand and Kuldeep Kumar of Armed Police deployed on Railway tracks etc, Randheer Sharma St Supdt Railway Station Udhampur, all SHOs and incharge PPs of GRP and other officials of Railways.
SSP stressed upon augmenting the security measures on ground and for remaining extra vigilant and alert in view of the prevailing scenario and forthcoming Assembly elections.
It was emphasized that round the clock patrolling be conducted jointly by officials of GRP and RPF so that it becomes effective and meaningful and the same was agreed by ASC of RPF present in the meeting.
It was further stressed upon that maximum and proper use of security equipments installed at Railway Stations be made and visitors be frisked thoroughly to rule out any act of sabotage and try to provide foolproof security.
All SHOs and incharge police posts were directed by SSP to conduct regular checking particularly during night hours to ensure that directions are implemented on ground in letter and spirit.
SDPO was directed to regularly supervise and monitor the performance of officers and men and any lapse be immediately brought to the notice of SSP for taking action against the erring officials.
