DODA, Sept 22: SSP Doda, Sandeep Mehta here today conducted a comprehensive crime-review meeting with all Additional SPs, SDPOs, Station Heads and In-Charges of Police Posts.
The meeting focused on reviewing heinous crimes like murder, attempt-to-murder, NDPS, UAPA, rape and POCSO matters as well as time-bound investigations governed by 60-90-day schedules.
Officers from across the district joined virtually, while those posted in Doda attended in person.
Case-by-case discussions covered ongoing investigations from the current year and all backlog matters. SSP Mehta stressed the need for quality investigations and the timely filing of chargesheets to ensure justice for victims.
Officers were directed to expedite probes and maximize disposals within the stipulated periods.
The SSP underscored the importance of investigative efficiency, accountability, mandatory use of FSL services and strict adherence to legal deadlines besides uploading success stories under New Criminal Laws on the portal.
He instructed supervisory officers and IOs to maintain close surveillance of suspects, drug addicts, OGWs, troublemakers, miscreants and rumour-mongers and to take preventive measures upholding law and order.
The operational officers were instructed to keep a close watch on the activities of ANEs operating in Doda and adjoining districts. The inputs need to be analysed properly and acted upon in time and support system of the ANEs be demolished.
SSP Mehta urged all officers to redouble efforts to reduce case pendency and meet the targets set by senior functionaries, reaffirming that ultimate goal is to provide a safe and crime-free environment to the people of Doda.
