DODA, Aug 21: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda, Sandeep Mehta here today conducted a comprehensive crime review meeting at District Police Office, Doda with all Additional SPs, SDPOs, Station Heads, I/C PPs and I/Os.
The meeting focused on the review of heinous nature cases, including murder/attempt to murder, cases registered under NDPS, UAPA and rape/POCSO, along with time-bound cases falling under 60-day and 90-day investigation schedules.
The meeting was attended by all supervisory officers, SHOs and IC PPs/IOs from across the district virtually, while officers stationed in Doda participated in person.
A detailed discussion was held on each case, covering both ongoing investigations from the current year and backlog cases.
SSP Doda emphasized the importance of conducting quality investigations and ensuring the timely filing of chargesheets in the court of law to deliver justice to the victims.
All pending timeline cases were thoroughly reviewed. The SSP issued specific directions to expedite investigations and ensure maximum disposal of cases within the stipulated time frames.
During the review, SSP Doda also instructed supervisory officers and IOs to maintain close surveillance over suspects, drug addicts, Over Ground Workers, troublemakers, miscreants and rumour mongers and to initiate preventive measures to uphold law and order at all costs.
He further directed the officers to make all-out efforts to expedite investigations and reduce case pendency, in accordance with the targets set by senior functionaries.
SSP Mehta stressed the need to launch a vigorous crackdown on drug peddlers, identify their backward and forward linkages and take stringent action against the main suppliers. The ultimate goal, he emphasized, is to provide a safe environment to the people of Doda.
