JAMMU, Nov 9: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu Joginder Singh today reviewed election preparedness and security arrangements for the upcoming Nagrota Assembly Constituency bye-poll and held a detailed briefing of police and CAPF personnel at District Police Lines, Jammu.
During the meeting, the SSP directed officers to maintain utmost caution while dealing with the public during elections to ensure a peaceful atmosphere.
He stressed strict security checks at sensitive locations and said all standard measures have been taken to maintain law and order during the polling process.
Interacting with the deployed personnel, he asked them to familiarize themselves with local areas, remain alert to any potential disturbances, and maintain visible presence to instil public confidence.
Officers at all levels were asked to ensure proper briefing of their subordinates and coordinate closely with election staff.
Concluding the review, the SSP emphasised the need for enhanced teamwork and inter-agency coordination to ensure free, fair, and transparent polling in line with the democratic values of the nation.
Pertinently, the campaigning for the Nagrota bye-poll concluded this evening, with voting scheduled for November 11.
