JAMMU, Nov 6: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu, Joginder Singh, today chaired a comprehensive crime and security review meeting at District Police Lines Jammu.
As per a statement, the meeting was attended by all Zonal SPs, SP Operations Jammu, SDPOs, DySP DAR, Senior PO DPO Jammu, Incharge FSL Unit DPL Jammu, and SHOs of the district.
During the meeting, various measures for maintaining peace, law, and order were discussed.
The SSP reviewed progress on quality investigation of cases, timely disposal of property-related and NDPS cases, verification drives, inquest proceedings, and action against history-sheeters, absconders, and missing persons.
He stressed on completing investigations within the prescribed timelines of 60 and 90 days under both old and new criminal laws to ensure speedy justice.
Progress on CCTNS, e-Sakshya, e-summons, and creation of Station Intelligence Diaries (SIDs) was also reviewed.
Officers were directed to ensure the mandatory use of FSL services as per the provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for collecting scientific evidence.
The District Police Chief urged officers to maintain strict surveillance on organised criminals and gangsters, take strong action against drug peddlers and crime networks, and strictly implement citizen-centric provisions under new criminal laws, including registration of Zero-FIRs and e-FIRs.
He emphasised zero tolerance towards corruption, crime concealment, and indiscipline, while advising officers to combine prompt response with polite and empathetic public dealings.
Appreciating the efforts of Jammu Police, SSP Joginder Singh also called for strict adherence to border SOPs, enhanced coordination with other security forces, area domination, and tenant verification without causing public inconvenience.
