KISHTWAR, Mar 24: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shafqat Hussain Bhat chaired a meeting with transporters and trade unions of district Kishtwar.
In the meeting, DySP Headquarters Davinder Singh Bandral, DySP DAR Dhreej Singh Kotach, SDPO Marwah Arvinder Singh and SHO Police Station Kishtwar Inspector Abid Hussain were also present.
During the meeting, the cooperation of participants in maintaining communal harmony was sought. While assuring the same, the participants raised various issues like verification of outsiders, addressing the issue of Drug abuse, eve teasing, rash driving, road Romeos, traffic jamming, wrong parking and check on distillation of illicit liquor.
SSP Kishtwar assured the participants for prompt redressal of the issues raised by the participants during the meeting.
SSP said that the overloading in minibuses and sumos shall be dealt seriously. The transporters should pass the message to the drivers to refrain from over loading of passengers in the district otherwise action under law will be taken against the defaulters, he added.
The transporters and traders assured their cooperation for streamlining the traffic rationally in the district.
