SSP Doda visits far off areas, reviews working of VDCs

DODA, May 4: SSP Doda, Sandeep Mehta here today visited the remote and strategically important areas of Bulandpur and Charota in Assar Sub Division to enhance coordination between security forces and the public, especially in far-flung and vulnerable areas.
The SSP was accompanied by SP (Operations), Dy.SP DAR Doda and SHO Assar and he began his visit by touring the Special Police Post (SPP) at Bulandpur.
The district Police head interacted with cops there and reviewed operational readiness of the post besides taking stock of the prevailing security scenario.
He also held an informal interaction with locals to build trust and to gather firsthand feedback on law and order issues.
Later, at Charota, the SSP met members of Village Defence Committees (VDCs) and the general public. The VDC members shared their experiences while the locals raised various issues for which SSP Mehta assured that the genuine problems would be addressed promptly through proper channels.
The SSP emphasized the need for constant vigilance and urged the citizens to play a proactive role in maintaining peace and harmony in the region.
He appealed to the public to stay alert and report any suspicious movements or presence of anti-national elements to the nearest Police establishment.
SSP Mehta said: “Every citizen, in their own capacity, can contribute to maintain peace and safety in the region. Timely information can go a long way in preventing untoward incidents.”
