DODA, June 4: Ahead of Eid-ul-Adha festival, a Police-community meeting was organized at Police Station Doda, which was chaired by Sandeep Mehta, SSP Doda.
The meeting was organized by SHO Police Station Doda, Inspector Parvaiz Ahmed Khanday to instil confidence among the locals about the security arrangements and also to brief them about emerging situations.
The meeting was attended by prominent persons of the area including ex-Sarpanches, Panches, Numberdars, Chowkidars, Imams, Pujaris and other respectable persons of the area falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Doda.
Several public concerns were raised and deliberated upon during the meeting with special emphasis on preparations for the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha festival.
In a heart warming gesture symbolizing communal harmony, members of the Hindu community extended advance Eid Mubarak greetings to their Muslim brethren.
Addressing the gathering, SSP Doda emphasized the importance of maintaining peace, brotherhood and unity among all communities especially during the festive season. The public was urged to stay vigilant against any miscreant elements attempting to disturb the peace and was instructed to immediately inform the nearest Police Post in case of any suspicious activities or potential communal tension.
The menace of drug trafficking was also discussed.
