JAMMU, Aug 11: Sainik Samaj Party (SSP) president, Col S.S Pathania has urged J&K Lt. Governor to formulate a policy to honour awardees of Chakra series gallantry awards like the policies of central Government.
He said that Captain Bana Singh is a living legend and winner of highest gallantry award, Paramvir Chakra while other award winners have also made us proud and brought laurels and glory to J&K by their unparallel courage, dedication and ensured security and sovereignty of our nation.
“J&K always remained on forefront in joining armed forces and made supreme sacrifices in all wars and anti-insurgency operations in Kashmir and across the nation,” Col. Pathania said in a handout adding: “Our serving soldiers, veterans and their families never got their dues, due to the apathy and vendetta politics by Kashmir centric politicians, constantly nurturing anti-armed forces mindset.”
“Now with, President Rule in vogue, it is the time to correct the historical wrong and give dues to armed forces members and veterans at par with neighbouring Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh in terms of job reservations post retirement, emoluments and incentives for gallantry award winners and reservations in administrative and allied services,” he further said.
