SSH protests against water shortage

JAMMU, Jan 4: Shiv Sena Hindustan (SSH) here today staged a protest demonstration at Purkhu under the leadership of its J&K president, Rajesh Kesri to express resentment against the water shortage in the area.
The protesters torched the effigy of Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department and claimed that the residents of Purkhu Camp were grappling with acute water scarcity for over a year.
“Despite repeated appeals to the PHE Department and assurances of laying new pipeline, no tangible action has been taken so far by the authorities concerned,” they maintained.
Addressing the protesters, Rajesh Kesri said if the issue of proper water supply is not resolved soon then they will escalate the agitation with a protest outside PHE Chief Engineer’s office.
The protest was attended by senior SSH members including Raj Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, Rajesh Sharma, Sanjeev Kumar, Vinod Kumar, Anu Devi, Mani Devi, Darshan Devi and others.
