JAMMU, May 24: More organizations have criticised the Government for changing the name of historical and religious places in the Valley.
Shiv Sena (Bala Sahib Thackery) today lambasted ruling PDP – BJP coalition for changing the name of Hari Parbat into Koh-e-Maran and threatens State wide agitation against this episode which has hurt the sentiments of Hindu community world wide.
In a meeting with all State and block leaders here today State president of Shiv Sena Dimpy Kohli along with Sandeep Bhagat, Rajan Gupta, Narinder Dev Chunni, Raj Singh, MM Nagotra strongly criticised Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department for naming the famous Hari Parbat hill as ‘Koh-e-Maran’ in their advertisement, on Kashmir Fort festival.
Condemning the incident, the Dimpy Kohli said that this is a very big conspiracy and demanded a fair probe into it.
He said that it is a deliberate design to change the names of Hindu places in Kashmir but Shiv Sena would not allow anyone to change the name of Hindus shrines.
Kashmiri Hindu Conference (KHC) chairman advocate M L Thusu and convener, P L Koul Budgami have also taken serious exception to changing the name of a sacred Hindu religious place and termed it a deliberate attempt by some vested elements in the Tourism Department.
The duo demanded a thorough probe into the matter and action against the guilty. They said changing the name of such a revered religious place is against the secular values of the State and it is deliberate attempt to create a wedge among the people of different communities.
The KHC leaders said much cause of concern is that the name was changed when BJP is part of the coalition in the State and they urged the party to clear its stand.
Jammu Kashmir Peoples Front (JKPF) president Satish Poonchi has also criticized the coalition Government for this act and asked the BJP to clear its stand on the issue. He said the claims of BJP have turned totally hollow in this regard and the ministers of the party should act decisively to convey a message that such elements are not tolerated in the administration.
