SRTC volunteer retired employees to intensify stir from Jan 2

JAMMU, Dec 23: All J&K SRTC Volunteer Retired Employees Association has announced to launch a vigorous agitation from January 2 if its demands are not conceded by the State Government.
Decision in this regard was taken during an emergency meeting, held here today under the leadership of Dev Raj Bali, president VRS Union of J&K SRTC. The meet strongly  criticized the attitude of the State Government  and Transport authorities  towards the them as they are were not given  the benefits of 6th Pay Commission and COLA arrears amounting to Rs 16,76,49,497.00 and the bills are lying pending in the Civil Sectt, Srinagar for the last five years.
The meet unanimously decided that if their demands are not fulfilled before the 30th December, 2017, they will demonstrate vigorously on 2nd January 2018. The Association also appealed to all VRS/GHS employees to take part in the demonstration on 2nd January at Press Club Exhibition Ground, Jammu.
The Association is demanding 6th Pay Commission arrears, COLA arrears since 1999, pension benefits and   bonus @8.33 percent on the basic pay
The meeting was attended by Surinder Singh, Mohinder Singh, Bindravan Sharma, Balwinder Singh, Dwarka Nath, Prem Nath, Kulbir Singh and others.
