Srinagar, Sept 6: A man from the old city area of Srinagar working in Canteen Stores Department (CSD) of the army has gone missing from Bakshi Nagar area of Jammu last Thursday.
The family living in Urdu Bazar of Pathar Masjid Srinagar told Excelsior that they have been searching for him since then, but their every attempt has failed.
“We have lodged a missing report with Bakshi Nagar police station after my elder brother, Reyaz Ahmed Khan went missing from Bakshi Nagar where he had gone to collect his COVID-19 test report,” Parvez Ahmed Khan, brother of the missing person said.
Khan said that on August 30, his brother left Srinagar for Bari Brahmana where he works in Canteen Stores Department (CSD) of the army. He needed a COVID-19 report before joining duty; the reports were to be collected from Bakshi Nagar.
“On that very day, his brother-in-law who also works there dropped Reyaz outside GMC Jammu Hospital; he has told them that he will collect the reports and after that, he will go to the office himself, since then he is nowhere to be found,” he said.
Reyaz Ahmed Khan has three children, of which a daughter is set to be married next month. “We are in two minds, we don’t know what to do, how and where to find him,” he said.
He said that he has put his mobile phone on divert and all the calls that are made to him are diverted on the mobile phone of his mother. “It is causing difficulty for police to trace him down, or at least get to know about his last location,” Pervez said.
His brother in law has complained to the Bakshi Nagar police station and the police have started the investigation.
