HYDERABAD, Aug 13 : Telangana IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu has been named in the India’s 100 Most Influential People in AI 2025 list, announced by Analytics India Magazine.
The recognition honours individuals driving India’s leadership in artificial intelligence through policy, innovation, and leadership.
In the policymakers’ category, Sridhar Babu features alongside Union Ministers Ashwini Vaishnaw and Piyush Goyal, former Union Minister Rajiv Chandrasekhar, India AI Mission Advisor Aakrit Vaish, India AI Mission CEO Abhishek Singh, NPCI CEO Dilip Asbe, former NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant, and former NASSCOM President Debjani Ghosh, among others.
The organisers said Telangana has emerged as a role model for other states in AI under Sridhar Babu’s leadership. He played a pivotal role in formulating a comprehensive AI-based Telangana Strategy and Roadmap for responsible AI implementation. His initiatives include launching India’s first AI-based Telangana Data Exchange to enable good governance, foster innovation, and ensure secure data sharing.
He was also credited for organising the Global AI Summit, spearheading plans to establish 100 global capability centres in 2025 26, and leading efforts to set up an AI University to advance research, innovation, and talent development. The organisers believe this recognition will further enhance Telangana’s global standing in AI.
Responding to the honour, Sridhar Babu said it was not just a personal recognition but one for the people of Telangana. “This recognition is a testament to our government’s vision to use AI for inclusive growth and better lives. I have been included in this list only with the encouragement of CM Revanth Reddy,” he said, adding that Telangana is moving ahead with a mission to become the AI capital of the globe and ensure the benefits of technological progress reach every citizen, an official statement said.
