This has reference to the news item ‘Cases registered against company for supplying spurious drugs’ DE April 5.
The spurious drugs supplied to the Government hospitals in the State is a matter of great concern. The people involved in this racket should be shown no linency after all it is related to health of people.
The Government should investigate the matter without losing any time.
The problem should not restrict itself to this drug only but also to other medicines supplied by other pharmaceutical companies as well. There have been allegations in the fast as well that drugs available in Government hospitals is usually of sub-standard nature. But these allegations go unnoticed and uninvestigated. One wonders how all this escaped the eyes of the Purchasing Committees.
