JAMMU, June 24: The 10th anniversary of Satguru Partap Singh (SPS) Hospitals, Ludhiana was celebrated today at Jammu by cake cutting ceremony by patients R C Gupta and Santosh Sharma of Jammu who had undergone cardiac treatment in the hospital.
The occasion was also used to launch a dedicated 24×7 hospital helpline number exclusively for Jammu and Kashmir. The helpline number is +91-8872 00 2222.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr KC Mukherjee, Chief of Cardiac Surgery, said in addition to the education elements of the day, the SPS hospitals also celebrating a decade of delivering specialist cardiology and cardio – thoracic care to people across the region. He said cardiac care and heart health are dynamic and growing areas of medicine and we have seen our capacity and service provision grow dramatically over the past 10 years.
Dr Pawan Suri, Senior Consultant, Department of Interventional Cardiology, said SPS hospitals offers a wide range of services including Adult Coronary and Peripheral Angioplasties/Stenting, Permanent Pacemaker implantations including CRT-P&CRT-D, Valvuloplasties. He said in the last ten years they have done more than 20,000 procedures in the department which included some of the most challenging, complicated and life threatening cases from Jammu region.
Dr Kapil Chib, Joint Director, Medical Services, of the hospital mentioned that the entire team has done more than 20,000 procedures all together which includes full spectrum of Cardiac surgeries, age ranging from 3 days old child to 89 years old man. He further added that the Department of Cardiac Sciences boasts state of the art facilities including the world class Cath Lab, 24×7 emergency centre, non-invasive cardiology investigations, Zero infection operation theatre, coronary care unit, dedicated cardiac wardand internationally renowned Hypertension and rehabilitation programs.
“The department has many firsts to its credit like first to start MICS (Minimally invasive Cardiac Surgery) program in routine 3 years ago north of Delhi”, he added.
