REASI, Jan 30: In a tragic road incident, a Special Police Officer (SPO) with the J&K Police, died after being run over by a passenger bus, here today.
The deceased, identified as Shokat Ali, son of Mohd Raqeeb and a resident of Pai Kotli Manotrian, tehsil Katra, was returning home to attend a marriage function when the mishap took place near Simbal Choa.
As soon as the SPO got off the vehicle, he came under rear tyre of the bus, bearing registration number JK02AN-7283 and died on the spot. The bus driver fled from the spot after the accident.
Police have registered a case in this connection
