UDHAMPUR, Feb 4: A Special Police Officer (SPO) was arrested today for drug peddling and 5.95 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession.
The accused SPO has been identified as Michael Jackson, son of Raju, resident of Christian Colony, Udhampur. He was presently posted at District Police Lines Udhampur.
He was arrested by a Police Team of Police Station Udhampur, led by SHO Raghubir Singh, while performing patrolling duty near SKPA Udhampur area. Even as the accused SPO attempted to escape from the spot, he was chased and apprehended, said Police.
On frisking, the police team recovered 5.95 grams of heroin like contraband substance from his possession.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 41/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered in PS Udhampur. Further investigation of the case is underway.
