JAMMU, Dec 26: Considering the heavy rush and the New Year celebrations, Jammu Division of the Northern Railway has decided to run a special reserved train between New Delhi and Katra from December 27, 2025 to January 1, 2026.

The reserved special train with 16 coaches will make five trips on each side i. e from New Delhi to Katra and vice-versa. Passengers can book tickets through the official Indian Railways website/app or authorized agents.
The special train (No. 04081) from New Delhi to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra will depart from New Delhi Railway Station at 11:45 PM on its first day, December 27, and reach Katra at 12:00 PM the next day. En route, this train will stop at Panipat, Kurukshetra, Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana, Jalandhar Cantt, Pathankot Cantt, Jammu, and Shaheed Captain Tushar Mahajan (Udhampur) railway stations.
Special train (No. 04082) from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to New Delhi from 28.12.25 will depart from Katra at 9:20 PM on its first day, December 28, and reach New Delhi at 10:00 AM the next day. En route, this train will stop at Shaheed Captain Tushar Mahajan (Udhampur), Jammu, Pathankot Cantt, Jalandhar Cantt, Ludhiana, Ambala Cantt, Kurukshetra, and Panipat railway stations.
According to Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Jammu, Uchit Singhal, this reserved special train has been introduced to cater to the increasing number of tourists in Jammu and Kashmir and to meet the travel needs of local residents during the holiday season. This will make it easier for them to connect with their families and friends to celebrate the New Year and will also help in managing the rush during the New Year period, he added.
