Newer Techniques & Technology changing life of patients specially geriatrics population with help New Technique called as “OLLIF” in short, “ Percutaneous Endofusion” is a blessing for Elderly population.
This is a image guided Endoscopic Spine Surgery where with help of image, many spine level as an when required are fused to make patients mobile & pain free, sometime in cardiac compromised patients this unique surgery can be done under local anesthesia. Nisar Ahmad Bhatt 61 /male from, Srinagar , ex employee of Skims , was suffering with backache and difficulty in walking, unable to stand & walk much, only few steps.
Many doctors & hospitals adviced him for open Spine Surgery, but due to age & scariness of open spine surgery & complication their after, he & his family members were not interested for open Spine surgery and preferred to live with a poor quality of life fill with pain, agony & discomfort, when his symptoms became worsed & so much that he was unable to walk more then few steps.

Where patient is allowed to walk just after surgery within four hours and discharge in 48 hours, as compare to open surgery where patient remained on bed for many days & weeks with restricted activity.
Due to this latest technique which is not available in J& K , Nisar opted for this unique technique known as OLLIF “ or Percutaneous Endofusion. After surgery Nishar started walking very well, without pain & numbness , from few steps to around 2-3 km, with no stitch on her back. Dr. Trivedi told that at present time his unit “Spine Masters Jalandhar” is only doing this surgery in Extreme North part of India, due to this people from other states and other country are frequent visitor for this surgery, which is blessing for old “Geriatrics” population.
