Speaker reviews residential arrangements for Legislators

JAMMU, Mar 17: Speaker, Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta today convened a high level meeting to review residential facilities for Legislators in twin capital cities of Srinagar and Jammu.
Financial Commissioner, Planning and Development, B. B. Vyas, Commissioner Secr-etary, Finance Navin Choudhary, Secretary Assembly M. Ramzan and Director Estates, G. N. Itoo were present in the meeting.
In the meeting, it was informed that a multi storied suite will be constructed at a suitable place in Srinagar in order to overcome the deficiency of residential quarters for Legislators. “The design of the proposed flat type residential structure has been prepared and is presently in Finance Department”, the Financial Commissioner said.
The meeting also reviewed the progress of MLA Hostel Staff Quarters at Jammu and it was informed that the quarters stand completed. The release of final payment for the quarters was also discussed in the meeting.
Referring to installation of acoustic system in the meeting hall at Srinagar Legislative Assembly, directions were given to the Director Estates to submit a proposal for the same at the earliest.
Among others, Special Secretary, Legislative Assembly, M. R. Singh; Additional Secre-tary, Law, Justice and Parliam-entary Affairs, Achal Sathi; Deputy Secretary, Legislative Assembly, Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Bhat and other senior officers of Assembly Secretariat and Estates Department were present in the meeting.
