JAMMU, Mar 26: Speaker Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta today conducted extensive tour of Gandhi Nagar, Dharap, Khawaskhan, Sher Garh, Sunjwan and Bhathindi and took stock of the ongoing developmental activities in these areas .
He also kick started work of black topping of road at Dharap, Khwaskhan, Bhathindi and inspected the de-silting work of irrigation canals.
During his visit various deputations called on the Speaker and appreciated the initiatives taken for starting various developmental works in these areas.They also apprised him of their other demands pertaining to the medical facilities, up-gradation of Jeewan Nagar- Muraliyan road, Sunwan -Chatta road, proper supply of irrigation water, culverts, repairing of internal links and proper power supply in the area.
Responding to demands of the locals, the Speaker said that necessary directions have been given to the concerned departments to take requisite steps to redress the grievances of the people on priority. He said that the work of blacktopping of the road from Sunjwan to Chatta and Jeevan Nagar to Muraliyan has already been sanctioned and will start very soon.
