SRINAGAR, Nov 1: Speaker, Legislative Assembly Mohammad Akbar Lone today conducted extensive tour to various areas in Sumbal Sonawari Constituency and took stock of the various ongoing developmental works in these areas. He also inspected NTPHC, Naidkhai and took stock of the Medicare facilities available in the centre. Mr. Lone directed the hospital authorities to ensure availability of drugs and maintain other available equipments including ultra sonagraphy besides up keep of cleanliness in and around the hospital. Mr. Lone directed the R & B authorities to speed up the pace of work on construction of footpath and filling up of the ground of the health centre.
During inspection of playing field at Naidkhai, the Speaker directed the concerned to start construction work of the fencing of the ground immediately for which Rs.13.10 lakh have already been released.
The Speaker also visited Kartargund village and directed the concerned authorities to prepare Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the development of playing field of 800 by 500 feet field size so that funds could be arranged for the purpose.
Interacting with the youth of the area, Mr. Lone said that the Government is concerned about the progress and prosperity of Sonawari Constituency and several concrete initiatives have been taken for fulfilling the aspirations of the people of the area. He said sports talent is present among the budding youth of the Sonawari but need is to channelize it in a proper way. He said for the purpose playing fields are important to help in providing a chance to players to showcase their talent.
Referring to the developmental works under execution in the constituency, Mr. Lone said several micro and macro projects under various sectors have been taken in hand with an aim to uplift the lifestyle of the people especially weaker sections of the society.
Later, the Speaker addressed a large public gathering at Kaniyari village and listed various developmental and welfare schemes registered by the Government for the development of the people of the State during last three and half years’ service.
