Speaker defers question about BRGF scheme

SRINAGAR : Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Speaker Kavinder Gupta today deferred a question about Backward Regions Grant Fund (BRGF) scheme after the member who had posed this question claimed that the answer was incomplete.
After Minister for Rural Development & Panchayati Raj and Law & Justice Abdul Haq Khan replied to a question asked about BRGF scheme,
Congress MLA Ajaz Ahmad Khan who had raised the issue, said that the answer was incomplete.
Mr Khan said that the reply to his question was incomplete as it has data of only one department while he had requested information about all the departments associated with BRGF scheme.
Mr Haq said that since the question was given to his department he gave data about the scheme from Rural Development department. “If you want data from other departments we will compile it and sent it to you,” he said.
However, Mr Khan said that he had posed the question to the House and it was the decision of Secretariat to assign the question to Rural Development department.
Mr Khan said he wanted full answer to his question and since the reply was incomplete, the question should be deferred. To this, Mr Haq said he had no issues with it. Later, the Speaker deferred the question and asked the government resubmit the answer. (AGENCIES)
