JAMMU, July 8: Superintendent of Police (SP), South Jammu, Shaheen Wahid today interacted with the students of the Institute of Padhoji.
While interacting with the students, Shaheen Wahid highlighted the importance of the education in today’s times while stating that education not only adds knowledge into our lives but also makes us aware about the various ill practices prevailing in the society like drug abuse, eve teasing and addiction of young students towards mobile phones and other smart gadgets.
The SP advised the students to stay away from the ill practice of drug abuse in order to strengthen action and cooperation in achieving a world free of drug consumption since a single drug has the power to destroy a whole family. She also stated that drug consumption is like a parasite that makes the body susceptible to other health complications as well.
She told the students if they notice any suspicious people dealing with the sale and purchase of drugs, they can report the matter to the police authorities. She added that girl child’s early education constructs a sort of roadmap of women empowerment which is an important thing and needs to be accomplished.
Shaheen Wahid in her illuminating talk also stated that India is still a country that lack women empowerment. The officer motivated the young girls to face the issues of eve teasing and harassment issues boldly.
The Officer also emphasized that smart phone addiction is going to be a major addiction in the near future and is very common amongst young children and students. She said that excessive usage of mobile phones can lead to hazardous ill effects related to mental state like anxiety, restlessness, irritability, sleeping disorders etc.
In the end, Shaheen Wahid motivated the students to take interest in their studies and remained focused throughout these crucial years of life by channelizing their energy towards right path of life.
