JAMMU, June 16: In a move to promote academic collaboration and hands-on learning, SP South Ajay Sharma, on the directions of SSP Jammu Joginder Singh took the initiative to coordinate with the Skill Incubation Innovation Entrepreneurship Development Centre (SIIEDC), University of Jammu, and successfully facilitated an internship programme for university students. This collaboration aims to provide practical exposure to students by engaging them in structured police-related tasks.
The SP South interacted with the interns. During the interaction, he briefed the interns on the structure and functioning of police and encouraged them to actively participate in the learning process. It was emphasized that the interns will primarily be engaged in data interpretation-related tasks, documentation, record analysis, crime pattern interpretation, and CCTNS-related functions.
Subsequently, Sharma convened a joint meeting with SDPOs, SHOs, MHCs, and CCTNS Operators of the South Zone along with interns. During the meeting, clear directions were issued to ensure that the internship programme is professionally handled. All SHOs were instructed to extend full cooperation, assign meaningful tasks, and monitor the progress of interns.
This initiative reflects Jammu Police South Zone’s openness to innovation, and youth engagement by offering students a structured platform to understand real-world policing, particularly in the domain of data-driven administration and digital policing tools.
