JAMMU, Apr 30: A free eye screening camp was organised at Mata Bawe Wali Temple, Bahu Fort, for devotees, pujaris and sewadars.
The camp, jointly conducted by District Police Jammu and Samvedna Society, marked the 98th such initiative by the organisation.
Superintendent of Police (South) Jammu, Ajay Sharma, inaugurated the camp in the presence of SHO Bahu Fort Inspector Ashwani Sharma, Incharge Police Post Bahu Mandir SI Lekh Raj, and other officials.
The camp was held in collaboration with the Department of Ophthalmology, Government Medical College Jammu.
A total of 103 patients received free treatment, including refraction, NCT, AR and vision check-ups. Free medicines were also distributed.
Speaking at the event, SP Ajay Sharma stressed the importance of regular health check-ups and awareness about eye donation.
He appreciated the efforts of Samvedna Society and assured full support for future initiatives.
Chairman of Samvedna Society, Keshav Chopra, said their mission is to provide quality healthcare access to all sections of society.
He reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to continuing such camps in the future.
The medical team included Dr Nancy Sharma, Dr Tapan Sharma, Dr Sushant Kharka, Dr Mohammad Abid, Anil Kumar (Senior Refractionist), Anil Kumar (Refractionist), Wasim Hafiz (Ophthalmic Assistant), along with volunteers Vikas Kumar, Anju Chopra, Manoj Tandon, Ritika Chopra, Rajesh Nischal, Amit Bagotra and others.
