Soz favours LoC routes for visit to PoK shrines

NOWSHERA, Dec 25 President JKPCC Prof. Saif-ud-Din Soz today said that the Sikh pilgrims and other people interested to visit their shrines in PoK should be allowed to cross over through the established routes on LoC like Chakan-Da-Bagh, Poonch -Rawalakote etc.
He was addressing a congregation of Sikh devotees who had assembled at Nonial-Nowshera in Rajouri district in connection with 69th death anniversary of Bawa Sunder Singh Jee.
Responding to the demand of the Sikh community for facilitating their travel to PoK for visiting the shrine of Bawa Sunder Singh Jee at Ali-Beig, Prof Soz said that he would take up the matter with Union Foreign Affairs Minister Salmaan Khursheed very soon. He also assured the gathering that their demand for promotion of Punjabi language and upgrading of schools would be taken up on priority with the state government.
Prof. Soz paid obeisance at Gurudawara Nonial and was presented a saropa in honour by the District Gurudawara Parbandhak Committee.
Earlier, addressing a gathering of public at Dak Banglow Nowshera in which number of Sarpanchs, Panchs and leaders and workers of the Congress party were present, PCC chief said the problems of people of border area, LoC and refugees were genuine and he was sure that the same would be resolved soon. He also assured the Sarpanchs and Panchs that they would be paid honorarium and insurance cover as early as possible.
The meeting was also addressed by Member Parliament Madan Lal Sharma, Vice Chairman OBC Kuldip Raj Verma, Ch. Sain Rashid, S.Manjit Singh, Iqbal Malik, president INTUC Shiv Kumar Sharma, Ashwani Puri, Ravi Singh Slathia, Narinder Gupta, Sanjay Sawhney, Harbans Lal Bakshi, Vinod Mahajan, Sub. Gian Chand and others.
Member Legislative Council Ravinder Sharma highlighted the local problems regarding power, drinking water, road connectivity and demanded special recruitment drive for the people of border area of Rajouri district in Police and Para Military Forces. He thanked the Sarpanchs and Panchs for ensuring victory of coalition candidates in the recently held election to the Legislative Council from Panchayat quota.
