South Korean students visit JU

JAMMU, July 11: A group of students from various Universities of South Korea today visited Jammu University campus and interacted with the students, scholars and the Vice-Chancellor here.
The group of students, headed by Kim Jin Hwan, is on three-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir. During they stay on the campus, they also visited some Departments, Museum, Art-Gallery and other prominent places of the University.
Interacting with the Korean students, Prof Ishar said that the JU was giving impetus to higher education by expanding institutional outreach to remote and far off areas. The Vice Chancellor lauded the efforts of the students who are on the three-day visit to the State of J&K and assured that they will get a chance to perform in the University of Jammu which will be an inspiration for the budding artists.
Later, Lida Ishar, wife of Prof M P S Ishar, invited group of students to the Vice-Chancellor lodge and enquired about their arrangement and expressed deep pleasure in knowing that they have come all the way from Korea to understand the culture and heritage of India in general and J&K State in particular.
Before arriving here, the students also visited Delhi University where they presented Drama and Musical performance.
Among others, Dr D L Choudhary, Dr Shailender, Jai Kumar Sharma, Special Secretary to the Vice Chancellor, Ranjeet Kalra, Assistant Director, PRO Vinay Thusoo and Akhilesh Sharma were also present on the occasion.
