SRINAGAR, Apr 30: Accusing Government of neglecting south Kashmir, particularly Tral, on development front, senior CPI (M) leader Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami today said there are hardly any visible changes on ground with regard to infrastructure building.
“The tall promises that have been made often by the successive Governments are yet to be fulfilled,” Mr Tarigami, who is MLA from Kulgam, said.
Mr Tarigami said the poor condition of roads and bridges, inadequate road connectivity, absence of proper healthcare facilities, lack of proper educational infrastructure, unemployment of educated youth, frequent breakdown of electricity, lack of safe drinking water facility and non-availability of essential commodities bear witness to the hollowness of claims of development of the area.
The CPI (M) leader demanded that a special package of funds be provided for the development of south Kashmir, including Tral area, in order to mitigate the sufferings and hardships of the people.
