JAMMU, Nov 26: The State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (SOTTO) J&K today organised a poster making competition on the theme “Organ Donation – Angdaan, Jeevan Sanjeevani Abhiyaan” at the Institute of Music & Fine Arts (IMFA), University of Jammu.
The event aimed to encourage youth participation in promoting awareness about the life-saving importance of organ donation.
Held in collaboration with IMFA, the competition was organised under the guidance of Dr Elias Sharma, HoD Urology and Nodal Officer, SOTTO J&K.
IMFA Principal Prof Shohab Inayat Malik appreciated the initiative and lauded SOTTO’s efforts to spread awareness on this humanitarian cause. Dr Milan Sharma, HOD Painting, encouraged students to use their art to inspire positive social change.
Students from various departments showcased creative and thought-provoking posters reflecting compassion, hope and the value of giving life through organ donation.
SOTTO J&K Joint Director Dr Poonam Mahajan thanked IMFA for its support and stressed the importance of continued awareness activities in educational institutions across the UT.
Among 43 participants, Bharti Verma of 4th Year Painting secured the first position. Ramanpreet Kaur and Sukanya, both from 3rd Year Applied Arts, bagged the second and third prizes respectively. All winners were felicitated and certificates were given to every participant.
The event was coordinated by faculty members and SOTTO staff, including Rachita Dutta, Ankush Kesar, Sukhjeet Singh, Anshu Sharma, Irfan Ahmad Lone, Nisha Kumari, Ashwani Kumar and Ashok Singh.
