Soni Pandita’s Boni Shehjar hits stands

JAMMU, May 3: Boni Shehjar – a collection of Kashmiri devotional poetry authored by Soni Pandita ‘Trail’ was released at the Writer’s Club, here, today in presence of galaxy of writers and poets.
Sanjay Dhar, a renowned social activist and Chairman of Sharika Foundation was the chief guest on the occasion. He emphasized the vital role of literature in preserving cultural identity.
B N Abhilash, renowned Kashmiri poet and author was the guest of honour, who spoke on the unifying power of literature in fostering the preservation of Kashmiri Pandit culture and tradition.
Dr Javaid Rahi, Chief Editor of Gojri at JKAACL praised the author’s contribution to Kashmiri literature.
Soni Pandita dedicated this book to her late husband Moti Lal Pandita. She shared her journey of writing this book which took her two years to complete. She also read poignant passages from the book devoted to Gods and enthralled the audience.
The highlight of the occasion was the soulful musical performance by Rajesh Kher, who composed the bhajans featured in the book. His heartfelt singing added a spiritual and cultural dimension to the programme.
Ashok Gowhar a well known poet presented a paper on the book, offering deep insights and critical analysis into its themes and narrative style. He shared thoughtful reflections on the literary and cultural significance of the book.
Ashok Dhar a social activist, highlighted the vital role of Kashmiri Pandit women in preserving the Kashmiri language through their writing.
The large gathering at the event saw an impressive presence of distinguished writers, poets, students, thinkers and literary enthusiasts.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Vishal Pandita. The proceedings were anchored by Sushant Dhar.
