JAMMU, June 2: Principal Sessions Judge Reasi YP Kotwal today awarded life-imprisonment and fine Rs 10,000 to Kaku Ram who killed his father Sardari Lal in the year 2008.
According to the police case accused Kaku Ram had doubt that his father has illicit relation with his wife and killed his father by hitting stone. On this police registered a case u/s 302 RPC vide FIR No 153/2008 and after completion of investigation presented challan in the court.
Principal Sessions Judge Reasi YP Kotwal after hearing Adv Shalinder Bhardwaj appearing for the accused whereas Public Prosecutor MM Sharma appearing for the State observed that accused Kaku Ram has been convicted for the offence 302 RPC and he submitted that he is man with poor social background and is sole supporter of his family and as such a harsh sentence may not only eliminate him from the society but would also expose his family to grave starvation for whole of their life.
Court observed that the crime is truly grave but it cannot be considered as rarest of rare crimes. With these observations Court awarded life-imprisonment and fine Rs 10,000 to Kaku Ram for committing the murder of his father and sent the accused to District Jail Jammu for serving his serving his sentence.
