SAMBA, Dec 14: On the occasion of Golden Victory year, a program was organized by Army and district administration at Veer Bhoomi, Park here, today in which District Development Commissioner (DDC) Samba Anuradha Gupta was mainly present along with 168 Brigade Commander, DKR Gautam, SSP Samba, Rajesh Sharma along with Army and many officers of the district administration were present.
A statue of Param Vir Chakra 2nd Lieutenant Arun Khetrapal was posthumously installed at Veer Bhoomi Park, which was also unveiled by Anuradha Gupta. On this occasion, tributes were also paid to the brave soldiers who were martyred in the Indo-Pakistan war of 1971 and the brave warriors who fought in that war were also honored including Maha Vir Chakra, Captain Sansar Chand, Captain, Waryam Singh, Captain Inder Singh and others.
Many brave soldiers including Mahavir Chakra, Sansar Chand shared their experiences during the war with the children and inspired them to join the army or paramilitary forces to serve the country.
