JAMMU, May 25: An Army jawan died after a motorcycle he was riding on collided with a stationary vehicle at Sohanjana area during the thunderstorm last evening, officials said.
Pankaj Choudhary (23) son of Kamal Singh of Gho Manhasan, who was posted with JAKLI in Satwari Area, was on way to his unit when his Royal Enfield motorcycle (JK02DN-1120) collided with a parked TaTa Mobile vehicle (JK02CB-6586) near Sohanjana Bridge on the Ring Road, resulting in severe injuries to the soldier, they said.
He was immediately taken to Military Hospital Satwari, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment, officials said.

According to them, after conducting the post-mortem examination, the body of the deceased was handed to his family members by the Army with full military honours this morning to perform his last rites.
Meanwhile, a case under the relevant sections of the law has been registered at the concerned Police Station to further investigate into the matter.
