Snow in hills, rains lash Kashmir

Gusty winds continue for several hours

Srinagar, Nov 4: Hills of Kashmir, including Gulmarg and Sonamarg, received light snowfall today while rains lashed the Valley towards evening after gusty winds with Weatherman forecasting more rains and snow till tomorrow.
The hills of Kashmir including Gurez, Razdan Top, Sonamarg, Gulmarg, Furkiyan Top and Doodhpathri experienced light snowfall since afternoon.

The gusty winds, however, continued for several hours in the afternoon at several places, including Srinagar. In the evening, Srinagar and other parts of the Valley were lashed by the rains, bringing the temperature further down across the region.

Director Meteorological (MeT) department, Dr Mukhtar Ahmad stated that the weather will remain generally cloudy on November 5 while there is a possibility of light to moderate rain or snowfall (over higher reaches) at many places across Kashmir division and at scattered locations in Jammu division, particularly during the evening of November 4 to the early morning of November 5.
The dry weather conditions would prevail once again from November 6 to 15, he said.
He had also stated that the maximum as well as the minimum temperatures are expected to plummet from tomorrow (November 5) onwards.
