Snatching case worked out, accused arrested within 24 hrs

JAMMU, Jan 14: Parade police worked out a snatching case with the arrest of accused within 24 hours.
As per police sources, yesterday a complaint was lodged by Mohammad Aslam Wani with Police Post Parade stating a person has snatched gold bangle (kada) worth Rs 2 lakhs from his aunty in Purani Mandi area.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 12/19 under section 382 RPC was registered at Pacca Danga Police Station and hunt was launched to nab the accused.
On specific information, a team from Parade Police Post detained a person, who confessed to the alleged crime.
Police has taken the accused into the custody, who has been identified as Mohammad Saleem Sheikh, son of Abdul Rashid Sheikh of Sheikh Colony Upper Ganj Nowhatt Srinagar, at present Panj Peer Gole Pully Talab Tillo, Jammu. On his disclosure, the snatched gold bangle was recovered.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain his involvement in other theft cases.
Police team led by Incharge Parade Police Post SI Vijay Sharma made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Pacca Danga Inspector Varinder Gupta, SDPO City Varun Jandial, SP City Amritpal Singh and SSP Jammu Tejinder Singh.
