
KATRA, Nov 6: The UGC-Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (MMTTC), Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra, inaugurated an 8-day online orientation and sensitization programme on the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The programme has attracted more than 76 participants from diverse institutions across India, reflecting a shared commitment toward reimagining and strengthening the nation’s education landscape.
The inaugural session began with an address by Prof Sharada Potukuchi, Deputy Director, UGC-MMTTC Centre, SMVDU, and Coordinator of the Programme. She emphasized the importance of continuous professional development for educators in aligning teaching practices with the vision and objectives of NEP 2020.
Prof Suparn Kumar Sharma, Director, MMTTC Centre, SMVDU, delineated the goals of the programme, highlighting its focus on familiarizing participants with the key tenets and transformative vision of the National Education Policy. He underscored the pivotal role of NEP 2020 in shaping the future trajectory of Indian education, emphasizing innovation, inclusivity, and multidisciplinary learning as the cornerstones of national progress.
Dr Sunanda, Co-coordinator of the event, encouraged the participants to embrace this opportunity to learn, collaborate, and contribute to the future of education. The 8-day programme is structured around eight thematic domains of NEP 2020, namely: Holistic and Multidisciplinary Education; Curriculum and Pedagogical Reforms; Teacher Education and Capacity Building; Research, Innovation, and Knowledge Creation; Assessment, Accreditation, and Quality Assurance; Technology Integration in Education; Equity, Inclusion, and Gender Sensitization; Institutional Governance and Leadership.
Each domain is addressed through expert-led sessions, interactive discussions, and case-based learning to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of NEP 2020’s guiding principles and actionable frameworks.
