JAMMU, Feb 7: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof Pragati Kumar, organized an Industry Talk titled “Connecting Classrooms to Careers: From Classroom to Corporate – Learn What It Takes” in collaboration with Oracle Academy.
The event was conducted under the guidance of Head, School of Computer Science and Engineering (SoCSE), Prof Sunanda, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members and students across various departments.
The program was convened by Dr Naveen Gondhi and Dr Pooja Sharma, with Prof Ajay Kaul and Abhigya Mahajan serving as the organizing secretaries. The session featured Bharadwaj Asokan, Lead Program Manager, Oracle, as the distinguished industry expert and guest speaker.
During his insightful talk, Bharadwaj highlighted the growing importance of industry-ready skills, emphasizing the need for students to align their academic learning with industry requirements. He also provided an overview of Oracle and Oracle Academy initiatives, elaborating on opportunities for academic collaboration, cloud-based learning, and curriculum enhancement to bridge the gap between academia and industry.
Asokan encouraged students and faculty to actively engage with emerging technologies and skill-based learning platforms to remain competitive in the rapidly evolving technological landscape.
The session served as a valuable platform for understanding the evolving expectations of the corporate sector and fostering stronger industry-academia collaboration.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr Pooja Sharma.
