KATRA, Aug 20: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) began today a UGC – MMTTC sponsored short-term training program (STTP) on “Next-Generation Communication Networks: Technologies, Trends and Teaching Paradigms.”
This national-level program has drawn more than 100 faculty participants from across India, including Rajasthan, West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Punjab, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Haryana, Kerala, and Telangana. The training focuses on 5G and 6G, the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), cybersecurity and green, sustainable communications, with a strong emphasis on integrating these advancements into teaching, research and curriculum design.
Sessions are being delivered by distinguished experts from IIT (BHU) Varanasi, IIT Jammu, the University of Wollongong (Dubai), NITTTR Chandigarh, industry, and SMVDU. The schedule includes live demonstrations and case studies to provide hands-on exposure alongside theory. The program aims to upgrade teaching skills, build research capacity, and prepare students for the fast-changing telecom and digital landscape. The STTP is being conducted under the guidance of Vice-Chancellor, Prof Pragati Kumar.
