KATRA, Jan 29: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) concluded the student exchange program under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) and Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM).
The university hosted students from the Academy of Maritime Education and Training, Chennai, Tamil Nadu from 21st January 2024 onwards. The five-day journey unfolded a tapestry of diverse cultural, religious, and scenic experiences, creating lasting memories for the participants. The journey commenced with a visit to the Holy Shrine of Shiv Khori, setting the tone for the spiritual and cultural exploration that followed.
On the second day, the group ventured to Sanasar, enjoying the exhilarating water ride, adding a touch of adventure to the expedition. Day three, included visits to Jammu’s iconic landmarks, such as Amar Mahal and Raghunath Temple. On the fourth day, the group explored Jhajjar Kotli , before heading to the holy shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi in the evening. On the penultimate day, a comprehensive tour of the SMVDU campus was organized.
The final day, i.e., Republic Day featured a flag hoisting ceremony and a cultural event where AMET students showcased the rich culture of South India. The felicitation for the AMET faculty and a vote of thanks by SMVDU’s Nodal Officer, Sumanta Sarathi Sharma, marked the conclusion of the event.
As the bus dropped them at Katra Railway Station that evening, participants carried back cherished memories, strengthened cultural bonds, and a sense of gratitude for the well-organized and culturally enriching EBSB at SMVDU.
