KATRA, May 6: Government E Marketplace, Jammu and Kashmir, conducted a one day hands-on training on the topic, “Procurement through GeM” at SMVDU.
The training was held for all Heads of all Schools along with their dealing assistants, all PIs [having budget allocations], Heads of all Sections/common facilities, all DRs, ARs & SOs, AAO, ASO, and administrative staff of Engineering wing. The aim was to provide practical training to the faculty and staff members on procurement through GeM portal, with special focus on tendering.
Neeraj Gupta, Finance Officer SMVDU, inaugurated the workshop and laid great emphasis on the use of GeM portal for all kinds of procurement.
The resource person Amir Ali, Senior Assistant Director GeM, elaborated on the basic scope of GeM and why it was created. Sarthak Khoda, Business Facilitator-J&K for GeM, gave a detailed presentation along with hands-on training session on tender creation and uploading on GeM.
The participants shared the practical difficulties being faced by them while working on GeM and the resource persons tried to resolve most of their issues. The training was coordinated by Stores and Purchase wing of the University.
