KATRA, Feb 22: A three-day Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) provider course organized by SMVDIME (Medical College & Associated Hospital), Kakryal, in collaboration with the American Heart Association and the Lifesavers Association of India, was commenced here today.
Dr Yashpal Sharma, Executive Director SMVDIME in his welcome address conveyed his heartiest affiliations to Dr Ashutosh Gupta, Principal and Dean of GMC Jammu for supporting the noble cause of operationalizing SMVDIME through support of the faculty members.
He stressed on the need of BLS and ACLS trainings to faculty and staff and requested the delegates to further train at least 10 more persons in their respective departments to fulfill the need of training to all.
He acknowledged efforts of Dr Muthu Mathavan, Facility Director, SMVDNSH and veteran AHA instructors Dr Rakesh Kumar and Dr Sunil Kumar.
The training will be jointly given by ACLS instructors from GMC Jammu, SMVDNSH and Health Deptt Jammu and Kashmir.
Dr Vanilla Chopra, Associate Professor, HoD Anaesthesia and course coordinator is spearheading the course.
During the practical training, 60 medical professionals, including physicians and nurses, will be mastering both basic and advanced resuscitation procedures.
Dr Muthu Mathavan gave a vote of gratitude to conclude the session.
