KATRA, Aug 31: Under the jurisdiction of Katra Police Station, two separate attempts of smuggling liquor and drugs were foiled with the arrest of accused persons, here today
Acting on a specific input, a Police team headed by ASI Parmjeet Singh, I/C PCP Moori, succeeded in recovery of five gms Smack from the possession of one Surinder Kumar of Matyal, Reasi. Police seized the recovered Smack and arrested the accused under NDPS Act.
In another case, a Police party led by Sub Inspector Vikas Jasrotia, I/C PP Banganga intercepted one Ashok Kumar of Sangoor and recovered 40 poly pouches measuring 250/250 ml each of J&K Excise Liquor from his possession. The accused person was arrested and recovered poly pouches were seized.
Meanwhile, an elderly pilgrim from Madhya Pradesh died here today due to cardiac arrest while on way to Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan. The deceased was identified as
Mohan Lal Raikwar (63), son of Kadore Raikawar of Ward number 13, Macha, district Chattar Pur, MP. He suddenly fell unconscious at Ardhkuwari and was rushed to nearby dispensary where doctors declared him as brought dead.
