POONCH, June 30: Police rescued 10 bovine animals from the clutches of smugglers and foiled bovine -smuggling bids in Surankote area last night.
Official sources said on the directions of SSP Poonch Rohit Baskotra, teams headed by DySP Surankote Tanveer Jeelani and SHO Surankote Insp Niaz Ahmed and SI Sushant Singh established nakas at Behramgalla and Buffliaz.
During naka checking they apprehended two bovine smugglers and seized two vehicles bearing Reg NOs. JK02AP /1957 & JK11B/ 9204 which were on way towards Kashmir.
In this connection case FIRs 181 & 182 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act have been registered at Police Station, Surankote and further investigation taken up.
